About the Company:

Frugi are a Cornish fashion brand that specialises in sustainably sourced clothes for babies, children and new mothers. We design soft and comfy clothing made for children to wear and play in. It all started in 2004 where our mission was to show the world that we can create a great brand whilst upholding strong ethical and environmental values. Playful style, and ethics are at the very heart of what do.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will support the Warehouse team with the fulfilment of customer orders providing an exceptional service and quality of work.
  • You will assist with the picking and packing of orders
  • Shifts are usually between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Overtime available on Saturday
  • This is a fixed term contract for initially 8 weeks. It may be possible to offer an extension or a permanent position to suitable candidates following a review before the contract end date.

The candidate:

  • Will have experience performing in a fast-paced environment and providing customer service through their work.
  • Will be friendly and enjoy working as part of a team, but also be capable of working individually, unsupervised whilst maintaining work rate.
  • Is comfortable achieving daily performance based targets and working to task deadlines.
  • Will be reliable and self-motivated with good attention to detail.
  • Will manage their time well and be able to work efficiently whilst maintaining accuracy.
  • Should be open to working on a multitude of warehouse tasks when required.
  • Will be computer literate, efficient and accurate with data entry.
  • Will have a base level of fitness as the role is active. The role requires some lifting and the use of step ladders.
  • Full training will be provided to the successful applicant

Buyer (Maternity Leave Cover - 12 months)


About the Role:

As Buyer you’ll have a hands-on role within the product team; you’ll be involved in the development of the range, maximising the potential of product and target audience, developing seasonal direction, stories and shapes in line with brand identity.

You’ll work closely with suppliers, effectively negotiating all deliveries and cost prices, working alongside the garment technologist to ensure the correct fit and quality are achieved and ensuring all suppliers are on-boarded and are adhering to the code of ethics.

You will own the company product sustainability & sourcing strategies, ensuring this is communicated and monitored with suppliers and within company, driving sustainability as a forefront to the brand identity.

This role encompasses all elements of the range, Women’s, Menswear and Accessories, Footwear, Kids and Homeware.

The candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in women’s fashion buying
  • Experience working within retail with an excellent understanding of the marketplace, examining and reacting to customers buying behaviours and competitors.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract data.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive, Enthusiastic and Self-driven with a can-do attitude
  • Previous experience in managing team members and a department.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS office programmes, including PowerPoint and Excel.

Key Elements of Role:

  • Lead the product development team, inspiring direction and feel of season, reacting to customer buying behaviours and competitor marketplace.
  • Analyse and predict trends in line with brand identity; demonstrate commercial awareness and creativity.
  • Work closely with the merchandising team on seasonal strategy.
  • Build a well-balanced seasonal range, reflecting current trading environment.
  • Lead product sustainability and sourcing strategy, ensuring sustainability is at the forefront of product and buying decisions.
  • Responsible for presenting and delivering range overview and conveying season overview to the wider company
  • Manage communication with suppliers, leading negotiations and problem-solving issues.
  • Manage a seasonal sales and margin budget
  • Work alongside the Garment technician to maintain excellent quality and fit standards throughout all ranges.
  • Work alongside the marketing team to deliver seasonal physical and online promotional material and stories.
  • Manage relationships between the product team and other functions within the brand.
